'Absolute Nightmare' - Pundit destroys West Ham player who started tonight
Noel Whelan has tipped David Moyes to axe Sebastien Haller from the West Ham starting XI as soon as Michail Antonio returns to fitness.
The former Premier League striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has suggested that while the 26-year-old has a chance to prove his worth, he is likely to be dropped back to the bench when the 30-year-old is back in contention.
Haller, who featured as a substitute in five of the Irons’ opening six games, made his first Premier League start of the campaign in Saturday’s clash with Liverpool.
He also started and played the full 90 minutes in all three of the club’s League Cup fixtures as he netted braces against Charlton Athletic and Hull City.
Whelan has suggested that no matter how the record-signing performs over the coming weeks, he will be dropped when Antonio returns from his injury layoff.
Whelan told Football Insider: “There’s pressure there to go and take this chance because of how well Antonio’s been playing. The time has come.

“We know he can score goals, we know he’s an absolute nightmare up top when he’s at it for defenders but now this is an opportunity to keep a very, very good player out the side.
“It might be one game, two games, but he’s got to make it count because he’s got a lot to show and prove to the manager and the West Ham fans that he can be their number nine.
“If he doesn’t, he won’t find himself starting again, he’ll be used but I think Antonio will come back into the side no matter what, quite frankly.
“It’s an opportunity for him go out there and show the manager that he deserves to start and that he can push and be professional.”
