'Absolutely useless', 'Leave my club' - Newcastle fans blast Benitez favourite v Arsenal
Newcastle United fans turned to social media to blast the performance of attacker Ayoze Perez during the club’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday.
The Spanish playmaker returned to the starting XI after the club’s midweek defeat to Everton, as manager Rafael Benitez chose to make five changes to his line up.
However, the change in personnel were unable to fashion a different result for the Magpies, with Mesut Ozil’s first half goal, a sublime volley from just inside the area, the difference between the two sides.
The Toon Army were frustrated with what they saw from their club, and took to Twitter to target their anger at Perez, who they clearly felt offered very little up front as his side looked for an equaliser.
Here, Football Insider has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

The Spanish forward, who can operate either as an attacking midfielder or as an out-and-out striker, has been a favourite of boss Benitez this season, failing to appear in just one of the club’s 18 league matches this season.
