Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted Liverpool should "do everything" to keep Mohamed Salah at the club amid rumours of a potential Saudi switch.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Merseysiders would not finish inside the top six without the 31-year-old - claiming he provides 20 goals a season "guaranteed".

As quoted by the Daily Mail (22 June), Saudi Arabia football official Hafez Al-Medlej has urged the Pro League to "start working" on a deal to sign Salah.

The Middle Eastern nation has become a footballing powerhouse in the last year, with players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly already joining Saudi clubs.

Salah signed a new Liverpool contract just last summer (2022), keeping him at the club until June 2025 and netting him a reported wage of £350,000-a-week.

The Premier League and Champions League winner notched 30 goals and 16 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions last term as Liverpool finished fifth in the table.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “He’s unsellable.

“Liverpool should do everything to keep him, no matter how huge the Saudi Arabia offer is.

“Without him they won’t be anywhere near the top six., 100%.

“He’s their talisman – he’s 20 goals a season guaranteed. And you can see that he’s still razor sharp.

“He’s still got the pace, he’s still hungry.

“I see Salah playing in Saudi but not for at least two more years, when his contract finishes.”
