Agbonlahor '100% sure' on Graham Potter sack after Chelsea update - 'the job is too big for him'
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Chelsea to plan for next season by installing a new manager with Graham Potter seemingly on the brink of the sack.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the former Brighton boss has presided over “rubbish” football and “rubbish” results since his appointment – and claimed the job is “too big” for him.
Sources told this site on Thursday (23 February) that there is a growing consensus that Potter may have to be sacked despite his appointment in September 2022 as a long-term option.
There is strong unrest within the club with senior staff believing it will be hard to attract top targets without Champions League football.
Speaking in the run-up to Sunday’s (26 February) meeting with Tottenham, Potter admitted he is “under pressure” after talks with the Chelsea owners.
The Blues have an opportunity to close the gap to the top four in their clash with Spurs, with the deficit currently standing at 11 points.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I think his job is seriously under threat.
“Chelsea will be having meetings to discuss who they might go after. I’m 100% sure.
“They want to back him as a long-term solution but we’re not seeing a team that is reacting to him. The football is rubbish, and the results are rubbish.
“Wouldn’t it be better to give a new manager the rest of the season, a good pre-season – and see what someone else can do?
“It’s not about the new players. Potter’s record hasn’t been good since he came into the club.
“The job just looks too big for him. I think it’s best for him to go.”
