Agbonlahor backs Liverpool to sign Jude Bellingham after source reveals 'agreement'

Gabby Agbonlahor has suggested Liverpool will have a clear run at signing Jude Bellingham next summer.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Real Madrid will not be willing to stump up the “big money” to sign Bellingham.

The Athletic reported earlier this week (21 September) that Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all interested in signing the 19-year-old.

It is claimed that Borussia Dortmund value him at £131.6million (€150million) as he enters the final three years of his contract.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this year (30 March) that Dortmund are attempting to convince Bellingham to stay by increasing his salary and also signing his younger brother, the Birmingham winger Jobe Bellingham.

“You have to remember Real Madrid have [Aurelien] Tchouameni, they have [Eduardo] Camavinga, [Toni] Kroos and [Luka] Modric are still there,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“They’ve got a lot of options, Real Madrid. [Federico] Valverde is another one.

“Bellingham is not going to want to go somewhere where he’s not guaranteed to start and I don’t think he’d start in that Real Madrid midfield.

“He’s probably looking at Liverpool and thinking ‘I’m straight in, I’d play every game’.

“I think he would choose Liverpool. I don’t think Real Madrid would go in for him, they’ve got enough cover in that position. I don’t think they’d spend the big money on him.

“They might even want him to go to Liverpool and they get him afterwards, after four or five years.”

Bellingham has 31 goal contributions in 100 games across all competitions for Dortmund.

That includes six goals in 10 Champions League appearances fro the German giants.

In other news, Liverpool are confident of agreeing Keita deal as talks get underway.
