Agbonlahor can't believe £15.6m David de Gea latest after Man United talks update
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted David de Gea “doesn’t deserve” a one-year extension to his £300,000-a-week Man United contract.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Old Trafford club should replace the 31-year-old with a “younger option”.
According to The Telegraph (24 September), Man United are weighing up whether to trigger De Gea’s one-year contract option with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
The report claims a move for Everton and England shot-stopper Jordan Pickford could “enter the frame” if the Spaniard departs Old Trafford.
De Gea, who joined Man United in 2011, reportedly earns “over £300,000-a-week” at the club – which amounts to an annual wage of more than £15.6million.
He has started each of the Red Devils’ eight games this season, keeping three clean sheets.

Agbonlahor suggested the former Atletico Madrid star is error-prone.
He told Football Insider’s Connor Whitley: “I don’t think he deserves that contract.
“I would move on, to be honest. He’ll have a few good games but he’ll make errors.
“The wages they’re talking about, £300,000-a-week, he doesn’t deserve that.
“I would move on and look at a younger option instead.”
Man United shipped out backup keeper Dean Henderson in the summer window, replacing him with Martin Dubravka.
De Gea has racked up almost 500 appearances for the Red Devils during his time at Old Trafford.
