Agbonlahor: Celtic told to complete Hart signing after confirmed Tottenham news
Celtic should reignite their interest in Joe Hart after he was relegated to third-choice goalkeeper at Tottenham.
That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England star Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Spurs confirmed the signing of Pierluigi Gollini.
That means Hart is now third-choice in north London behind Gollini and club captain Hugo Lloris.
The 75-cap ex-England stopper moved to Spurs last summer after being released by Burnley.
The Daily Record reported that Celtic made contact with Hart’s camp over a potential move and Football Insider understands their interest at the time was genuine.
Their top target was Fraser Forster but when he opted to remain at Southampton they moved on to Vasilis Barkas.

However, the Greece international endured a nightmare campaign and ended last season on the bench.
This season has not got off to a better start after he made a costly error in Celtic’s 1-1 draw with FC Midtjylland in the first leg of their Champions League qualifier last week.
Asked whether the Hoops should look at Hart again, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“Hart’s got that experience, he’s played at the highest level with his club and country.
“He’s someone who can come in and offer some good experience to the team. He can challenge to become that number one as well.
“For me, it would definitely be a good signing. I’m sure Joe Hart would love to try out a different league at a big club like Celtic.”
Hart kept five clean sheets in 10 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham last term.
The 34-year-old has kept 127 clean sheets in 340 Premier League games for Manchester City, Birmingham City, West Ham and Burnley.
