Agbonlahor drops Tottenham prediction after Sky's Harry Kane exit update - 'no way...'

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Tottenham should refuse to sell Harry Kane and suggested they could face a bottom-half finish if he is to leave the club.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted there is “no way” Spurs can replace the 29-year-old talisman.

According to Sky Sports (16 March), Tottenham will stand firm and refuse to sell Kane this summer even if he doesn’t pen a new contract at the club.

The report claims Man United have a “strong interest” in the England captain but can’t afford to be dragged into a long-running “transfer saga” in the summer window.

Kane, who is out of contract in less than 18 months, has notched 22 goals and four assists across 38 games in all competitions this season.

He is yet to win a trophy with Tottenham despite scoring a club-record 270 goals for the club since making his debut in 2011.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “If I was Daniel Levy, I wouldn’t sell him.

“What could they get? £70million maybe? It’s great money, but they’d be losing the spine of their whole team.

“There’s no way they can go out and get someone as good as Harry Kane.

“Keeping Harry Kane at the club would probably be their best chance of staying in the Champions League another season – and that is worth a lot of money.

“Their attack has been so bad this season. If you take him out, you just can’t see where the goals are going to come from. They could be in the bottom half.”
