Agbonlahor: Everton set to offload Yerry Mina after confirmed news
Everton will be “ruthless” and not offer Yerry Mina a new contract, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed Mina’s poor injury record means Frank Lampard will not offer him a new deal.
The 28-year-old has only played once all season after picking up an ankle ligament injury in the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on the opening day (6 August).
As quoted by club media earlier this month, Lampard revealed that he will not return until “a few weeks after” the international break.
The Colombian international is out of contract at the end of the season.
Asked whether Mina has done enough to deserve a new deal, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “No, I don’t think so.

“Managers have got ruthless now and they have to be.
“If players are injury prone, you’ve got to get rid of them. It’s not a friendly place to be as a manager, you have to do what is best for the club.
“You need fit, on form centre-halves at all times. You will want to sign ones that are not injured all the time.
“Yerry Mina’s always injured, he’s no good to the club when he’s injured.
“When you look at his injury record it would make no sense to offer him a new contract.”
Mina has only started 12 Premier League games since the start of last season.
He moved to Everton from Barcelona in the summer of 2018 and has played 92 games across all competitions for the club.
