Agbonlahor: Goldson will love reported 'perfect' Rangers transfer update
Gary Cahill would be the “perfect signing” for Rangers, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted Cahill and Connor Goldson would form an immense partnership at the heart of the Rangers defence.
The Sun‘s Alan Nixon reported on 17 July the veteran defender is being “eyed” by the Gers, who could offer him a £35,000-a-week salary.
The ex-England star is currently a free agent after his Crystal Palace contract expired but it is claimed he is still wanted by new manager Patrick Vieira.
Palace have already bolstered their defensive ranks with the addition of Marc Geuhi from Chelsea.
Cahill spent the last two seasons at Selhurst Park after leaving Chelsea where he won the Champions League, Europa League and Premier League twice.

Asked whether the 35-year-old would still be capable of performing for Steven Gerrard’s side, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“Steven Gerrard will know him from playing together with England. He’s just an outstanding centre-half, experienced. He’s not as quick now but he would still do a great job.
“He’d be the perfect signing for Rangers to partner Goldson. That would be two experienced bricks at the back.
“It would be a great signing.”
Cahill has played 394 times in the Premier League across his time with Aston Villa, Bolton Wanderers, Chelsea and Palace.
He also has 61 England caps to his name and was part of the squad that reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2018.
