Agbonlahor issues emphatic Gabriel Jesus claim as 'rumour' emerges from Man City
Gabby Agbonlahor has insisted it is “stupid and silly” to think Gabriel Jesus will swap Man City for Arsenal this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Jesus is a major part of Man City’s plans and there is “zero chance” of him signing for Arsenal.
The Athletic reported last week (22 April) the Gunners are exploring the possibility of signing the 25-year-old.
It is claimed Arsenal’s technical director Edu has been in discussions with Jesus’ camp with his Man City contract set to expire at the end of next season.
Mikel Arteta worked closely with the striker when he was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at the Etihad.
Asked whether Jesus would be a success at Arsenal, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “He would be.

“I just don’t see him leaving Man City for Arsenal. He scored four goals last week, he’s not going to leave.
“I think this is a stupid and silly rumour. He’s not going to leave Man City, he just won’t.
“He’s been playing a lot recently so for me there’s zero chance of him going to Arsenal.
“It’s not because Arsenal are not worth it but I just feel that he’s still part of the process there. If he wasn’t getting the game time then yes but he’s starting games now.
“I don’t think he will go, no way.”
Jesus’ four goals in the 5-1 win over Watford last weekend (23 April) and one in the 4-3 victory over Real Madrid on Tuesday (26 April) bring his goal tally for the season to 12 in all competitions.
Arsenal will need to reinforce their forward line this summer with the contracts of both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to expire at the end of the season.
