Agbonlahor makes Everton top-six prediction as January transfer plans revealed by source
Everton can say goodbye to their hopes of finishing in the European places if they do not heavily invest in their squad.
That is the view of ex-Aston Villa and England attacker Gabby Agbonlahor, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after Everton’s January transfer plan was revealed.
A club source told Football Insider (October 11) they will again be under strict budget constraints in the winter window due to Premier League rules.
James Rodriguez’s departure has saved the Blues £9million which free up some funds for the winter window.
It is understood Rafa Benitez will again target cut-price deals or loan moves.
He brought in Andros Townsend and Salomon Rondon on free transfers over the summer while Demarai Gray arrived for a £1.7million fee.

Asked whether Everton can realistically break into the top six with limited spending in January, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “They’ve got a decent side, a decent manager.
“They just need a bit more money to invest in a few areas and then they’ll be definitely pushing to get into Europe.
“The foundations are there for Everton. They’ve got some good players, some really good young players. They just need that little bit more investment.
“Benitez has probably got some bargains lined up over the next two and a half months, ahead of January.
“Everton have always needed that little bit more money to spend and then they would be pushing for Europe, definitely.”
Everton last qualified for Europe in the 2016-17 season when they finished seventh.
Benitez’s side currently sit in fifth place after seven Premier League games, just two points off the top.
