Agbonlahor makes emphatic Morelos claim as he schedules Rangers exit talks with elite club
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Alfredo Morelos to snub an offer from Porto and stay at Rangers for another season.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward insisted the striker will want to play Champions League football at Ibrox next season.
Portuegese outlet A Bola reported at the weekend (19 June) Morelos and his agent have scheduled a trip to Portugal to listen to an offer from two-times Champions League winners Porto.
They are in the market for a striker after Moussa Marega left to join Saudia Arabian outfit Al-Hilal last month,
Morelos is under contract at Ibrox until the summer of 2014.
“He might see it as a step up,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“But he’s probably looking at it and thinking ‘Rangers have got a good chance of qualifying for the Champions League through the qualifying rounds and I’ve got a chance to play under a manager who loves me in the Champions League.’
“I don’t see him wanting to go to Porto or accept an offer from them. He’ll want to finish what he’s got going on at Rangers.
“Rangers are on fire at the moment, they’ll attract players.
“He’s only young so he’s got time to make that move in the future. He’s only just turned 25, he’s got plenty of time to make that move.
“I don’t see it happening this summer. He’ll want to have a good go at it in the Champions League and will want to win try and win the league again.”
Morelos, who only turned 25 yesterday (21 June) scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 44 games across all competitions for Rangers last season.
He has found the net 94 times and contributed 43 assists in 182 appearances for the Light Blues.
