Agbonlahor: Rangers told to negotiate cut-price McBurnie deal amid 'important' Ornstein reveal
Oli McBurnie would walk into the Rangers starting XI and would be a “great signing”, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward suggested the Ibrox outfit would have to negotiate a lower fee than the reported £15million fee.
The Daily Mail reported on May 27 that McBurnie is a summer target for Rangers and Sheffield United value him at £15million.
The Blades are willing to take a £5million hit on the Scotland international who moved to Bramall Lane from Swansea City for £20million in the summer of 2019.
Leeds-born McBurnie is a vocal boyhood Rangers fan.
The Athletic‘s David Ornstein reported in March that he is one of a number of players in the English game that do not participate in pre-game huddles due to their association with Celtic.

McBurnie’s ex-Sheffield United teammate John Fleck also does not participate in the gesture as he is a graduate of the Ibrox academy.
“McBurnie could get in the Rangers team,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“It’s always important to have players that love the club.
“So for me, it would be a great signing and hopefully they can negotiate a lower fee.
“It would be someone good to get in there, definitely.”
McBurnie, who just turned 25, scored just one Premier League goal in 23 appearances this term, including 12 starts.
He has found the net seven times in 75 top-flight games across his time at Sheffield United and Swansea.
