Agbonlahor: Rogic tipped to be key man at Celtic next season after 'perfect' reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Tom Rogic to “resurrect” his Celtic career under Ange Postecoglou.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker backed the new manager to get the best out of the midfielder who he worked with while in charge of Australia.
Postecoglou told the Celtic YouTube channel in his arrival interview that he had “always followed” Rogic’s career from afar.
Rogic has gained cult status among the Parkhead faithful after scoring 40 goals and providing 39 assists in 222 games for the Hoops.
But the 28-year-old managed just 14 starts across all competitions in the 2020-21 season and a Celtic source has told Football Insider the club’s plan was to let him go this summer.
He has opted to remain in Glasgow this summer and work on his fitness instead of linking up with the Australia squad for their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Asked whether he could re-find his best form under Postecoglou, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “100 per cent.
“If you’re Rogic, then he’s the perfect manager that you want to come and resurrect your Celtic career.
“He’ll know exactly the best position to play him in and how to get the best out of him.
“We’ll probably see a better Rogic and one that plays more in the team next season.”
James Forrest told the Celtic website in the wake of Postecoglou’s appointment that Rogic had given him a glowing reference.
The new manager has agreed a 12-month rolling contract with the Glasgow giants and will link up with his new side next week.
