Agbonlahor: Roy Keane was 'right' about 'shocking' Reguilon and three of his Tottenham teammates

Aston Villa legend Gabby Agbonlahor joined Football Insider's punditry team in November 2020. The Villans’ all-time leading Premier League goalscorer is loving life in the media spotlight and has no problem riling up supporters with his views - watch out Leeds fans! One of the most in-demand pundits at the moment, Gabby is also a regular on Sky Sports and talkSPORT.

Tottenham need to sign a brand new back four, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England striker slammed the Spurs defence, including the "shocking" Sergio Reguilon, for their display against Leeds United at the weekend.

Spurs were easily beaten 3-1 at Elland Road as Ryan Mason suffered his first defeat in the Premier League as a manager.

Left-back Reguilon had a particularly bad game as he lost possession a whopping 19 times - the joint-most of any Spurs player, according to sofascore.

Back in February, Roy Keane hit back at Jamie Redknapp's claim that the Spaniard was one of the Premier League's top left-backs on Sky Sports Super Sunday and Agbonlahor insisted his display in west Yorkshire proved him right.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It was the defending of a team that looked like their season’s gone.

“It wasn’t a team that has any confidence they’re going to get into the top four. It wasn’t a team that looked together.

“It looked like a bunch of players where the season’s done for them, they tossed it off.

“Yes, Harry Kane and [Heung-min] Son are always a threat but the rest of the team went through the motions.

“The amount of times Leeds had them two-on-one or three-on-two, it was amazing to see.

“I think it’s a big job for Mason and Daniel Levy has a big job on his hands to bring in somebody who can motivate these players.

“You could say they need a whole new back four.

“We saw Roy Keane’s comments about Reguilon a few months ago and he was exactly right. He proved Roy Keane right, he was shocking.”
