Agbonlahor: Ryan Kent backed to sign for Championship club after Rangers talks twist
Ryan Kent could end up in the English Championship if he does not refind his form at Rangers, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Kent has to “buck up his ideas” if he wants to make a “big” move.
The 25-year-old has entered the final year of his contract and could leave Ibrox for nothing next summer.
The club opened talks over a new deal in the summer Jonny McFarlane of the Rangers Review reported earlier this month (9 September) that negotiations had stalled.
On the pitch, Kent is yet to find the net in 10 appearances across all competitions this season but he has three Scottish Premiership assists to his name.
“To be honest, if you’re not ripping up trees in the SPFL then no big club is going to look at you at all,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“If he doesn’t buck up his ideas and start performing it’s going to affect his next move.
“He might be looking at the Premier League and end up in the Championship.
“He has to definitely start performing. When I’ve watched him recently he hasn’t looked like the Ryan Kent I saw last year.
“He’s got to improve, definitely.”
Kent moved to Rangers on loan in the summer of 2018 before the move was made permanent the following summer.
The former England youth international has 50 goals and 30 assists in 184 appearances across all competitions for the Ibrox giants.
