Gabby Agbonlahor is set for a return to the Aston Villa line-up as they prepare themselves for the visit of Birmingham City to Villa Park for the Saturday noon kick-off, according to a report.
The Birmingham Mail understands that the 31-year-old forward is fit and available for selection and that Lewis Grabban could also feature.
Last time out, Steve Bruce’s side only narrowly beat the Championship’s bottom of the league side Burton Albion by 3-2, to secure their position behind table-toppers Wolverhampton Wanderers and Derby County.
Villa are on a phenomenal run of form, having won their last six league outings, and will hope to put one over their city rivals at the weekend, by bagging yet another three points.
And they will be boosted by the news that Agbonlahor is set to make his comeback after scoring the winning goal when the two sides last met at Villa Park, with a late strike to secure the victory.
There is also a possibility that Lewis Grabban could make his debut since his loan move from Bournemouth.
The 30-year-old forward was on fire during his temporary spell at Sunderland for the first half of the seaon but it is unlikely that he will take the place of Scott Hogan whose form has been meticulous of late, with five goals in five games.
