Agbonlahor shares bold Buendia verdict after Aston Villa footage emerges

Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Emiliano Buendia to reach double figures in goals and assists next season for Aston Villa.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Villa’s record Premier League goalscorer claimed the attacker looks “sharp” in training footage released by the club.

Buendia has joined his new Aston Villa teammates for the first time after completing a club-record deal from Norwich City last month.

Buendia scored 15 times and provided 17 assists as Norwich won the Championship title last term.

“I’ve seen that video of him and he looks very sharp,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“He looks like he could play in any of those three positions behind the striker. He can play as a number 10, on the right, on the left.

“I’m excited to see him link up with Grealish and create chances for Watkins. He just looks like a player who’s got the confidence to come straight in and make things happen, take shots.

“Aston Villa have always liked exciting players who get on the ball and take people on and he looks exactly like that sort of player.

“I think he can be as good as he wants to be. He can get double figures in assists and goals in a team like Aston Villa.

“Also, it will take the weight off Jack Grealish. When he gets the ball, they’re going to have to worry about Buendia as well as Jack.”

Buendia scored once and provided seven assists in his only season in the Premier League with Norwich.

The 24-year-old earned his first call up to the Argentina squad this summer but was not part of the squad that won the Copa America.
