Agbonlahor shares 'massive' verdict after Rangers news confirmed
Rangers’ top priority this season will be qualifying for the Champions League group stages, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward delivered his verdict after the Gers learned their opponents for next week’s third qualifying round tie.
Steven Gerrard’s side will travel to Finland next Wednesday to face Malmo in the first leg before the sides meet at Ibrox the following Tuesday.
Malmo beat Swedish side HJK Helsinki on Tuesday (27 July) to set up the tie with the Scottish champions.
“I just think Rangers have got the manager with experience and hunger, they’ve got the hunger to win things again after winning the league,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They’ve got hunger to play in the Champions League, that’s the one. You always hear about Rangers and Celtic and their season can be over before playing in the league because of not qualifying for the Champions League.

“For me, with the squad of players they’ve got, it would be a massive disappointment to not qualify for the Champions League.
“I’m sure it’s something Steven Gerrard is dying to do as a manager. How many clubs is he going to go to and get a chance to manage in the Champions League? It’s massive for him and I’m sure he’ll be getting that into his players.
“Rangers would rather play in the Champions League group stages this season than anything else. It’s massive for them and I really hope they can get into it.”
