Agbonlahor shares Rangers-Celtic title verdict after what he's seen at Ibrox

There is “no gap” between Celtic and Rangers, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward backed the Hoops to push Rangers all the way for the Scottish Premiership title this season.

The Gers won the first Glasgow derby of the season 1-0 at Ibrox last weekend.

A Filip Helander header from a corner was the only thing that could separate the two sides.

“There’s no gap between them,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I think both teams are equal. I watched the game and both teams did well, I thought there was nothing in the game really.

“Rangers played at home so that gave them the advantage.

“It’s going to be a tight season. It’s not going to be anything like last season when it was easy for Rangers, Celtic have improved.

“Celtic looked very good to me. They’ll definitely push Rangers all the way this season.

“The defence looked fine to me. Celtic looked very good to me, playing against the best team in the league.

“They got done with a set-piece and had a great chance with [Odsonne] Edouard that he missed. Celtic were very unlucky in the game.

“There’s not much between them. This season it could go either way.

“If I was a betting man, I wouldn’t bet on either because it’s going to be very, very close.”

Rangers are now unbeaten in the last seven meetings between the two sides.

They finished 25 points above their city rivals last season as they clinched a historic 55th league title.
