Agbonlahor shares verdict on 'atrocious' Everton sacking Benitez after reveal in last 24 hours

Everton will not sack Rafa Benitez and will give him even more money to spend in the summer, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed Everton’s recent form has been “atrocious” and fans should be “very, very angry”.

The Blues are on a run of one win in 12 Premier League games and sit just eight points above the relegation zone.

They only scraped past Championship side Hull City in the FA Cup after extra time yesterday (8 January).

A banner was displayed at the away end at the MKM Stadium calling for Benitez to be sacked.

As quoted by Sky Sports after the game, the Spaniard insisted he is not worried about his future.

“They will not sack Benitez this season,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Everton will be fine, they are not going to get relegated. They will get the results to stay up.

“Then they will give him maybe more in the summer to help him progress this side.

“If I’m an Everton fan, I’m very, very angry with the results.

“I did mention it when he first went there in the summer. I wasn’t happy with it as an ex-Liverpool manager and I’m sure Everton fans feel the same now.

“It started off so positively but their recent form has been atrocious.

“Things have got to get better soon because if the teams below them start to get some results, they will start to get a little nervous.”
