Agbonlahor stunned by behind-the-scenes Erik ten Hag reveal at Man United - 'What are they doing?'
Gabby Agbonlahor has admitted he is “really surprised” Erik ten Hag has introduced specific weak foot training drills at Man United.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward claimed players should be incorporating the weak foot in regular drills as standard.
The Manchester Evening News reported earlier this week (12 September) that Ten Hag has placed an emphasis on improving the weaker foot of “certain players” in training.
It is claimed Luke Shaw is one of those players as the Man United manager looks to improve his right foot.
Ten Hag noticed a lack of left footers in the squad in pre-season and sought to address the balance by signing Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia and Antony.
“I’m really surprised,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“When I started at Aston Villa as a youngster I practised with my left foot every day because I wanted to be better on my weaker foot.
“That’s something I wouldn’t expect the players not to be doing. On shooting drills, you’d do your weak foot and strong foot, you wouldn’t just be laid off on your strong foot to shoot. The majority of the time you’d try your weaker foot.
“It’s very odd for me. What have managers been doing before Ten Hag got there?”
After a poor start to the season, Man United have won their last four Premier League games.
They do not play a domestic game until after the upcoming international break when they travel to local rivals Man City.
