Ange Postecoglou could be sacked by Celtic within "six or seven games", according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Villa and England forward delivered his verdict as Postecolgou revealed his frustrations with the club's recruitment this summer.

The Australian told Sky Sports after his side's exit from the Champions League on 29 July he may have done a good enough job of convincing the board he needs reinforcements.

The situation went from bad to worse on Saturday as the Hoops lost to newly-promoted Hearts at Tynecastle - their first defeat opening day defeat in the league since 1997.

"Everyone who is associated with Celtic, even everyone associated with Celtic who's watching from afar can see that they need players," Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

"There's a reason why Eddie Howe didn't get the job and didn't want the job. It's because of exactly what's happening now, there's no money for transfers. Eddie Howe would not have wanted to take that job without being able to bring in the players he wanted. That's a fact.

"This manager has jumped at it because he's hungry for a job and it's a good job.

"But sometimes as a manager, you should not jump into a job where you're destined to fail. You need a job where you can succeed. That's by being given the right budget to improve the squad and it doesn't look like he's got that.

"It could be a very short stay. I can tell you now, I've played at Celtic Park and even in a charity game, those fans are electric. If they don't get their act together those fans will have him sacked in six or seven games."
