Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Arsenal moving for West Ham star Declan Rice would "suit all parties" as they register interest ahead of the summer window.

The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the Gunners are "going places" and have a "1000%" chance of sealing a top-four finish this season.

According to The Guardian (16 January), Arsenal will make Rice their top summer target and are optimistic of beating London rivals Chelsea to his signature.

The report claims the England midfielder has already been made aware of where he will fit into Mikel Arteta's plans.

Rice is the captain at West Ham and has played 90 minutes in each of their 19 Premier League games this season.

Sources told this site on 7 January that the Irons would be willing to swap their star man for Kalvin Phillips plus cash in a sensational summer deal - with Man City one of the sides monitoring the midfielder.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “If he’s to leave West Ham, he’ll choose a club in the Champions League.

“Arsenal are a club that need extra competition in that position, so I think that move will suit all parties.

“I think if you offered him the chance, he would choose Arsenal right now. They’re going places.

“They’re 1000% going to finish in the Champions League places, at least.

“But I think he’ll wait until the end of the season. It comes down to the price, and whether a team like Liverpool can sneak into the top four.”
