Agbonlahor tips four new Rangers signings and bumper transfer war chest after £20m+ reveal

Gabriel Agbonlahor has told Rangers to make three or four quality signings in the summer to extend their dominance.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa and England striker suggested Ibrox chiefs may have already promised prize money gained from the Europa League to manager Steven Gerrard to pay for new players.

This site revealed following their triumph over Royal Antwerp in the Round of 32 that the Glasgow giants have already netted £8million from the competition and that could go past the £20million mark with top-up cash.

After securing their first Scottish Premiership title in a decade at the weekend, the club are now focusing on the first leg of the last-16 tie with Slavia Prague on Thursday.

And Agbonlahor has insisted they can use the Europa League cash to strengthen Steven Gerrard’s title-winning squad.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “They need to go again. Bring in three, four new players that can add quality to your team.

“The longer you go in the Europa League, the more money for the club and they might have promised Steven Gerrard ‘The money we receive from the Europa League, you can have on transfers, you can have on new contracts.’

“You don’t know how the club is run, and I can see it happening.”

Rangers have reached the final 16 of the Europa League for the second consecutive season.

Last season’s run generated a confirmed £20million, although that was in a season with full houses at Ibrox.

In other news, Danny Mills has tipped Rangers to dominate Celtic for “three, four years” as they approach a 43-year-old to potentially be their new manager.
