The presence of Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek will help Alex Kral hit the ground running at West Ham, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker claimed the Kral being in the side alongside his Czech Republic teammates will be a big help.

West Ham confirmed on deadline day that the midfielder had joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

The 23-year-old was on international duty when the deal was completed and therefore when the signing was announced with a video on Twitter he was flanked by Coufal and Soucek.

As well as representing their country together, the trio also played for Slavia Prague earlier in their careers.

Asked whether that will help Kral explode for the Irons, Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: "Yes.

"It always helps when you are a foreign player coming in and there are players there from your own country it helps you settle in a lot quicker. That will be big for him.

"I'm sure he'll hit the ground running as his Czech Republic teammates did. They were flying from their first few games.

"Having teammates there is definitely a big thing."

Kral has already won 32 caps for the Czech Republic after making his debut in March 2019.

He played four times at the European Championship this summer including a 26-minute cameo against England in the group stages.
