Agbonlahor tips Tottenham to sign Aymeric Laporte after new agent reveal
Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Tottenham to move for wantaway Man City defender Aymeric Laporte in the summer transfer window.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed deals for the 28-year-old and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford would be a “good start” to an important off-season for Spurs.
Sources told this site on Monday (8 May) that Man City star Laporte has told his agents to find him a new club this summer.
It is believed that City will listen to offers for the Spain international – but would rather sell him abroad than to a Premier League rival.
Laporte wants to reignite his career by moving to a top club who will make him a regular starter again – after starting just 17 games for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2022-23 campaign.
Tottenham’s defence has come under fire from fans and pundits alike this term – with Eric Dier and Davinson Sanchez singled out for particular criticism.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “If I was Spurs, I’d go straight in for him.
“He’s so strong, good on the ball, quick – and can score goals from set pieces.
“He’s a very good centre-half who would probably start for most teams in the top six. He walks into a lot of those sides.
“He has been very unlucky to lose his place at Man City.
“Spurs need to upgrade their centre-backs, for sure. Laporte would be a no-brainer.
“Get him in alongside Jordan Pickford, and that would be a good start to their transfer window.”
In other news, Daniel Levy could block club-record Tottenham deal.
