The Leeds United bid to sign Jean-Kevin Augustin on loan from RB Leipzig is “done”, an agent working on the deal told Football Insider.

United made progress during the weekend in signing the striker, 22, on loan after, as revealed by Football Insider on Saturday morning, Marcelo Bielsa personally rang him to convince him to move to Elland Road.

An agent involved in Augustin cutting short his season-long loan at Monaco to head to Leeds has told Football Insider in a one-word update that the deal is set to be finalised before the transfer window shuts.

Asked for the latest on the potential transfer, the deal-maker replied it was “done”.

That will be of huge encouragement to Leeds fans getting increasingly excited about the club recruiting a forward of genuine pedigree to bolster their flimsy attack following Eddie Nketiah’s return to Arsenal

A key stumbling block to the deal was removed at the weekend as Leipzig and Monaco agreed to terminate his loan at the midway point.

Augustin has made just two league starts among 13 appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring once and supplying a single assist.

He was previously a first choice at Leipzig, where his record of 20 goals from 67 appearances is a creditable one.

Augustin has attracted interest from Premier League clubs in the past, including ahead of this window.

But, barring any dramatic late developments, the France Under-21 international is set to try and reignite his career initially on loan at Leeds.

In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that the club are in line for a multi-million windfall from Premier League giants after bid submitted.
