'Alejandro Garnacho forced out of Man United' amid Chelsea move update

Man United are forcing Alejandro Garnacho out of Old Trafford amid interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson revealed that the 20-year-old is being pushed out of the club due to Ruben Amorim’s “stubbornness and reliability” on the system he wants to play.

Robinson doesn’t believe that the Argentina international fits the way that Amorim wants to set up his United team, and that’s having an impact on Garnacho’s future.

Chelsea are one of several clubs monitoring Garnacho this month and industry insider Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider that the Blues are making progress in their attempts to sign him.

The left winger is under contract at United until 2028 and has scored 23 goals and provided 14 assists in his 119 appearances for the club in all competitions.

“No, can't see it,” Robinson told Football Insider regarding a potential Chelsea deal.

“They're way down the road with Napoli now.

“That deal would suit Manchester United a lot more rather than let him go into the Premier League because he is a good quality player.

“With Amorim coming in, it's the stubbornness and reliability on his system and it doesn't suit certain players.

“Where does Marcus Rashford play in that system? He's not a wingback and he's not a number 10, he doesn't fit in that system.

“Where does Garnacho play in that system? He's not a wingback and he's not a number 10. So those two players, they've become victim of circumstance and victim of system.

“Chelsea are overloaded in those areas anyway, they're not going to pay a heavy price for the player.

“He's got a heavy contract at Manchester United so it's going to take a pretty penny to get him out of there and I don't see Chelsea putting all their eggs into that one basket when, as I say, they've got plenty of quality in that area.

“His future, if it isn't at Manchester United, lies off these shores.”
