Alexander Isak has sent a message to Newcastle fans following their defeat against Fulham on Saturday (1 February), while also showing support to Joe Willock.

Second-half goals from Raul Jimenez and Rodrigo Muniz led to Fulham taking all three points, damaging Newcastle’s hopes of achieving European football.

Newcastle currently sit fifth in the Premier League table and are level on points with Man City, but Chelsea do boast a game in hand and only sit one point behind them.

Howe’s men will be back in action on Wednesday (5 February) in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-final against Arsenal, where they boast a two-goal lead.

The Magpies won’t have another Premier League fixture until Saturday (15 February) when they face Man City at the Etihad.

Alexander Isak supports his Newcastle teammate

Willock received racial abuse after the defeat against Fulham which is something he opted to publicly call out on Instagram.

His Newcastle teammate stood by him for that decision as Isak sent a message to fans via X as he said, “We win together, we lose together! Always with you brother @Joewillock. There’s no room for racism.”

Willock had replaced Joelinton in the 64th minute of the game, while Isak played the entire 90 minutes.

Newcastle

Newcastle have issued a statement regarding the abuse that Willock received as the club condemned the actions and made it clear there is no room for "appalling racist abuse" the player had endured.

The Magpies also confirmed that they have reported the abuse to Meta and the police and will be supporting the strongest possible action against those involved.
