Summer centre-back signing Fabio Cardoso has hailed young Rangers teammate Ross McCrorie after he made his debut in Tuesday evening’s 3-1 Scottish League Cup victory against Partick Thistle.
The Ibrox giants had to go into extra time for their win with Carlos Pena’s effort cancelled out by a late Kris Doolan strike before both Daniel Candeias and Eduardo Herrera sent Pedro Caixinha’s side into the next round.
But, it was 19-year-old McCrorie who stole the headlines after he was handed his senior Gers debut as a 76th minute substitute for Bruno Alves and impressed during his time out on the pitch.
Cardoso himself played the full 120 minutes of the clash and after the encounter the active social media user shared on his personal Twitter account the stitches he needed while also hailing his centre-back partner.

McCrorie has worked his way through the Rangers youth system and has even captained the Under-20s side.
He has also spent time out on loan at both Ayr United and Dumbatron, where he played 24 times in total to add to his two caps for the Scotland Under-21s team.
Last December Rangers also tied him down to a new deal until 2019 and he will now be keen to push on from Tuesday’s debut.
In other Rangers news, manager Pedro Caixinha has also raved about McCrorie.
