Sky Sports Scottish football pundit Andy Walker has offered his prediction for the upcoming clash between Celtic and Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday.
Writing in his column on the Sky Sports website, the former Hoops striker has tipped his old club to win a high-scoring game 3-2, with his tip for key man midfielder Tom Rogic.
“A Rolls Royce of a player for Celtic, his equaliser against Rangers last weekend in that pulsating Premiership clash was a thing of beauty” Walker said about the Australian.
Rogic’s goal against Rangers was his fifth of the season, and he is set to be a big player for the Bhoys at Fir Park, where he scored a late winner in a 4-3 victory last season.
The Hoops go into the match with a nine point lead and a game in hand over bitter rivals Rangers, and will want to go into the international break with a win.
Football Insider verdict
Looking at how poor the Hoops’ defence was at times in the Old Firm derby, there is every chance that Walker may be right when it comes to his prediction. The Bhoys were superb in attack in the win over Rangers and with Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard both in goals coring form the Bhoys are more than capable of finding the net against Motherwell. Brendan Rodgers will be hopeful that the win over Rangers which all but clinched the league title will enable his side to play with a freedom they have been lacking in recent weeks, and it will be interesting to see how they fare against Motherwell.
