Ange Postecoglou to be offered 'massive' contract after source's Celtic reveal - expert
Frank McAvennie has no doubt Ange Postecoglou deserves a big Celtic contract.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Hoops striker said Postecoglou is “his own man” and doesn’t need others to tell him what to do.
On 27 May, this site revealed that the Celts are planning to make the 57-year-old the best-paid manager in the club’s history in an effort to stop him quitting this summer.
The Australian has emerged as a leading contender for the Tottenham job as they look for a permanent replacement for Antonio Conte and Celtic are keen to stop him from being persuaded away by tabling their own big offer.
Postecoglou is on a 12-month rolling contract at Parkhead but the club are ready to offer him a new and improved deal after the boss wrapped up a second consecutive title, a League Cup and a potential Scottish Cup.
When asked if the manager deserves a massive new deal at the Scottish Champions, McAvennie told Football Insider: “Of course he does.

“He deserves that and more.
“He walked in without a backroom staff, took whoever was there, John Kennedy, Gavin Strachan, and they are obviously doing what he wants.
“Ange likes being his own man. A lot of managers need somebody to bounce off, somebody to tell them when they have done something wrong, I do not think Ange needs that.
“He has been all over the place and tried to perfect his game and I think it has worked.“
