Ange Postecoglou's 'first signing' at Tottenham named - 'they need him', says Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Ange Postecoglou should make Brentford goalkeeper David Raya his first signing at Tottenham.
The former Aston Villa striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed a “top goalkeeper” like the 27-year-old would give the Australian a chance at success with Spurs.
According to The Sun (6 June), Tottenham want to bring Raya to the club but are not willing to pay Brentford’s £40million asking price for the Spain international.
The report claims Spurs are only willing to give the Bees a fee of around £20million, with the shot-stopper having just a year left to run on his contract.
Raya turned out 39 times across all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign, keeping 12 clean sheets and conceding 47 goals.
Hugo Lloris has already confirmed his intention to leave Tottenham in the summer window after 12 years at the club.

Agbonlahor told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “I really like Raya.
“They need someone with his attributes – good at playing from the back, good shot-stopper.
“I always thought Jordan Pickford would suit Spurs, but Raya is a good option as well.
“Hugo Lloris just hasn’t been good enough, and they need a top goalkeeper.
“If you’ve got that, you’ve got a chance in the Premier League.
“Martinez at Aston Villa, for example, has been outstanding. Without him we’d be nowhere near Europe.
“I think Spurs need to make a top goalkeeper like Raya their first summer signing, for sure, I can see it happening.”
