There are many sleeping giants sitting in the Championship and quite a few that are yet to taste Premier League football after a long period of time.
Leeds are perhaps the standout team from the likes of Nottingham Forest, Derby County, and Sheffield Wednesday.
It has been 13 years of hurt for the Elland Road faithful as they desperately crave a return to the promise land.
Garry Monk has, without a doubt, brought back the hunger, passion, and belief to Yorkshire this season despite his team recently missing out on a play-off place.
The Sun reported that the club are set to sack the highly-rated Englishmen from his managerial post, which would no doubt be a baffling decision by those in charge.
It would instantly ruin any hopes at the club and result in the Whites remaining a mid-table Championship team for years to come.
The fanbase and history suggest that Leeds should be challenging for Europe in England’s top flight.
If they want to taste those special moments again then there is no doubt that Monk should stay on as manager.
His likable factor, man management of young players and ability to get the best out of his team is exactly what Leeds need.
Sacking him would only result in a further ten years of hurt which will see no change and no positive steps for one of England sleeping giants.
In other Leeds news, Vinnie Jones has stated what he feels is wrong with the club.
