Antony will get a clean slate at Man United under new manager Ruben Amorim, sources have told Football Insider.

United had been willing to listen to offers for Antony going into the January window, with a move more likely than not, but now his Old Trafford career has been given a lifeline.

Ten Hag placed big faith in Antony, reuniting with him in 2022 for a reported £85million after their time together at Ajax.

The Brazil international's move is yet to bear fruit with the forward rarely featuring in the starting lineup towards the end of the Dutchman's tenure - and he is now in the last chance saloon at the club.

Sources say Antony will be one of several players fighting for their future as Amorim heads in at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old has made five appearances totalling 155 minutes of action this term, notching one goal in the League Cup.

He is under contract at United until June 2027 and the Red Devils were open to offers for his services in the summer window, but no acceptable bids arrived.

Antony has made 87 appearances in total for Man United, notching 12 goals and five assists.

The Sao Paulo-born ace is a 16-cap Brazil international but has not played for his country since March 2023.

Man United

Man United will be managed by Ruud van Nistelrooy for their League Cup clash with Leicester on Wednesday (30 October).

Amorim could be in place when United host Chelsea on Sunday (3 November).
