Tottenham hero Ossie Ardiles has taken to Twitter to send his congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino following Wednesday’s dramatic win against Swansea.

The Welsh club were ahead for most of the game before Dele Alli, Son Heung-Min and Christian Eriksen all struck after the 88th minute to earn a 3-1 victory.

Ardiles, who spent 10 years as a Tottenham player, said on his personal Twitter account that he was made up by what was an ‘extraordinary result’ and struggled to find the words to describe his emotions.

His affinity for his old club was clear in two passionate tweets in which he used the phrase ‘come on you Spurs’ on five occasions.

Unfortunately, Tottenham failed to make any ground on league leaders Chelsea after they picked up a 2-1 win against Manchester City.

He also had spells at Paris St. Germain, Blackburn and QPR before retiring in 1991.
