Arfield tipped to leave Rangers 'soon' after latest snub - Campbell
Scott Arfield’s time at Rangers is coming to an end, according to Kevin Campbell.
However, the former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, said the 32-year-old will “remain professional” no matter what transpires in the final year of his contract.
Arfield wasn’t included in Steven Gerrard’s squad to face Hearts on Saturday, despite being pictured by club media in full training last week.
The Canada international midfielder has played just 22 minutes of Scottish Premiership action this season.
That figure stands in stark contrast to last term, where Arfield made 25 league appearances as Rangers claimed an unbeaten league title triumph.
The former Burnley man is one of 10 central midfielders at Gerrard’s disposal, with the Gers manager preferring to blood new signings John Lundstram, Nnamdi Ofoborh, and Juninho Bacuna.

When asked by Football Insider if Arfield’s time with Rangers was coming to an end, Campbell said: “It looks like it could be over soon.
“One thing I know about football, however, is that things can change very quickly.
“A couple of injuries could change everything. There’s Christmas time coming up, breaks, and all sorts coming up – he could come back into the picture.
“He’ll be professional, and whatever happens at the end of the season, happens.
“Who knows what could happen until then? Rangers have got a title to win, and if there are injuries then he could play a part in that.”
Arfield’s contract at Ibrox expires at the end of this season.
The Livingston-born midfielder has made 149 appearances for Rangers since joining in 2018.
