Arsenal are 'millions miles off it' and 'erratic' Ramsdale is not helping - pundit

Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Aaron Ramsdale is “erratic” and will continue to be “frustrating” for Arsenal.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker delivered his verdict after Arsenal’s emphatic 4-0 loss to Liverpool over the weekend.

The Gunners had the chance to climb into the top-four with a win at Anfield but instead stayed in fifth, three points below West Ham.

Ramsdale, who has been drowning in praise in recent weeks, had a night to forget as he parried in Sadio Mane’s opener and was left stranded for the other three goals.

The result ended a run of 10 games unbeaten across all competitions.

“Arsenal have beaten teams that they should be beating,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“Arsenal should be beating Leicester City, for example, if they want to be pushing for the top four.

“Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea are a million miles ahead of Arsenal so the result at the weekend didn’t surprise me.

“Liverpool are just miles ahead. Arsenal are looking to finish in the top-six, but they are not ready for the top-four.

“Look at Ramsdale, he just seems to be an erratic goalkeeper. He’ll make a world-class save like he did against Leicester and then has a performance like that.

“He makes big, big saves but then lets goals in where he should be saving it. It’s frustrating.

“That’s just the type of goalkeeper he is.”

Ramsdale has kept six clean sheets in 10 games for Arsenal and the defeat to Liverpool was his first for the club.

The 23-year-old moved to north London from Sheffield United on the back of two successive relegations from the Premier League.
