Former Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness believes Arsenal will avoid breaching Premier League financial regulations despite making a loss of £52million in 2022-23.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park and Villa Park and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – explained that the Gunners' low wage bill will help them stay within regulations.

The North London giants published their 2022-23 accounts this week revealing overall revenue of £465million.

Despite their increase in revenue, the Gunners still made an overall loss of £52million on top of a £46million loss in 2021/22.

Under Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules, top-flight clubs are only allowed to lose £105million over three years.

Arsenal will have to be 'careful' this summer to avoid points deduction

"They're going to have to be careful, but the good thing at Arsenal is that the wage bill was still relatively low compared to some of the other clubs," Maguire told Football Insider's Sean Fisher.

"Their revenue from the Emirates Stadium is still pretty good.

"I think they're going to be pushing at the edges of the regulations but I don't think they're going to breach it.

"They are going to have to keep an eye on things but with a fairly young squad, they should be okay."
