Report: Arsenal bid eight-figure sum for international goal machine

Arsenal have submitted a bid of £44.1million to Borussia Dortmund, as the London club try to snatch the services of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to a report.
The German media outlet Kicker report that Arsene Wenger has stepped up his interest in the Gabon international, and has tested the waters with an initial bid.
However, the report states that the £44.1million bid falls short of Dortmund’s valuation of the striker, who has scored 21 goals this season alone.
Kicker claim that Dortmund are not going to consider any bids under £52.9million, so this one might have a way to go yet.
Football Insider verdict:
£52.9million seems like a bargain for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in this crazy transfer period. If Wenger can find the funds in order to negotiate a transfer the Gabon international would be a refreshing and welcome addition to the Gunners ranks. Fans are desperate for some passion and drive by the players, and that is what Aubameyang brings – although his disciplinary record suggests Wenger could have some trouble on his hands. The energy levels and quickness of the striker make him a managers dream, and Aubameyang could also bring out the best in Lacazette, who has struggled for confidence since moving to the Emirates.
In other Arsenal transfer news, Wenger has confirmed that it will be two way traffic concerning the transfer of Alexis Sanchez.
