Arsenal boss Arteta 'will be interested' in Barcelona job as reports emerge - Campbell
Mikel Arteta “will be interested” in the Barcelona job but is likely to remain committed to Arsenal.
That is according to ex-Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the 39-year-old was linked with the role at the Nou Camp.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo claims that the Arsenal boss has been “studied” by Barca chiefs with current manager Ronald Koeman’s future up in the air.
Arteta’s Arsenal finished 8th in the Premier League in 2020-21, their joint-lowest placing since 1995.
But Campbell insists that Arteta is doing a creditable job and will indeed be “coveted” by clubs like Barcelona.
He told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs: “When you actually look at the job he’s doing and where the club are going, it hasn’t been free-flowing all the time but there has been progress made.

“Even experienced managers have struggled to get the dressing room at Arsenal right. So he deserves some praise.
“He’s got rid of the Ozils of this world, which could have been a trapdoor for him. The club is moving in the right direction.
“People on the outside will look at him and say he’s done a really good job at a difficult time at the club.
“So he will be coveted by people. Whether they will pull the trigger or not, I don’t know. But the way Barcelona finished the season, Robert Koeman might be on borrowed time.
“I’m sure he’ll be interested in Barcelona but he’s started a project and he’s only 18 months into it. It’s in his blood.”
Arteta graduated from Barca’s famous La Masia youth academy in 1999.
He played for the clubs second-string side but never made a senior appearance.
