Arsenal could sign Marcus Rashford for £35m as contact made - pundit
Arsenal could sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United for £35million this summer, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 24-year-old’s price tag will have plummeted this season due to his poor form.
As revealed by Football Insider on Thursday (28 April), Arsenal have registered their interest in Rashford ahead of the summer window.
A recruitment source explained the Gunners have set aside £45million to spend on a new first-choice centre-forward.
However, Whelan suggested Rashford could be signed for between £30-35million.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Right now, it might be a good time to strike a deal on the kid. He’s not playing well but you know the potential is there. Maybe Arteta can find that for him.

“I think around £30-35million when you look at the player. You know the potential is there but you’ve got to go on the last season he’s just played.
“That’s all you can go on right now. No different to any players moving, you only go on what they’re worth right now.
“Right now, we haven’t seen a £45million player from Rashford. You know that’s in him but right now, not this season.
“He’s completely dropped off the face of the earth for Man United. Performances, goals, assists – they’ve not been there.”
Arsenal currently have Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah as their senior centre-forward options.
However, both strikers are set to be out of contract this summer.
The Gunners also allowed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave for Barcelona in the January transfer window.
