Arsenal 'don't deserve' Champions League after 'embarrassing' development - pundit

Arsenal don’t deserve to finish in the top four after losing their last three Premier League games.

That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Gunners’ chances of finishing ahead of Tottenham.

Arsenal lost 1-0 to Southampton on Saturday (16 April) following two defeats to Brighton and Crystal Palace.

They were unable to take advantage of Tottenham’s loss earlier in the day as they slipped to sixth in the table.

On 8 April, Kenny told this site Arsenal “don’t deserve to finish in the top four” if they are unable to beat Brighton.

Following the loss to Southampton, he stands by this claim.

“They have gone from being on the front foot to all of a sudden being on the back foot,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“They lost to Brighton at home. This is a struggling Brighton side who couldn’t score.

“They scored twice and it was easy for them, it was embarrassing. Now Arsenal look nowhere near.

“The top four looked absolutely nailed on this time last month but now they are sixth.

“The form has gone and Tottenham look so strong. I thought Arsenal would be winning these games and they just don’t look at it.

“I think they are in trouble.”

Arsenal are next in action against Chelsea on Wednesday (20 April).

They slipped to sixth in the Premier League after the loss to Southampton thanks to Man United’s win over Norwich the same day.

In other news, the Gunners are lining up a bid for a 23-year-old who’s wowed Pep Guardiola and his club are willing to sell.
