Arsenal expert tips Newcastle United to win Mykhaylo Mudryk race after record-breaking reveal
Kevin Campbell has backed Newcastle United to swoop for Mykhalo Mudryk as Allan Saint-Maximin continues to struggle with injury.
The former Arsenal striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the high-flying Magpies would be an “exciting” proposition for the 21-year-old Ukrainian sensation.
Football Insider revealed last week (11 November) that Newcastle United are laying the groundwork to sign Shakhtar Donetsk sensation Mudryk for what could be a club-record fee.
The Magpies have made preliminary moves over a potential January deal costing £50million-plus amid competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal.
As quoted by journalist Fabrizio Romano (15 November), Mudryk opened the door on a move to the Gunners – but suggested he would want to be a “starter” for the Londoners.
Campbell suggested a starting berth could be available at Champions League hopefuls Newcastle.

He told Football Insider’s Ewan Kingsbury: “Saint-Maximin has had his injury issues.
“He is usually a guaranteed starter in that position, but there could be a spot in that attack where Mudryk could slot in.
“He’s a fantastic young player, and Newcastle will be in the mix ahead of their rivals.
“A lot of players will now be looking at Newcastle, including Mudryk – and thinking that they’re an exciting side they want to play for.
“They don’t sit back, they go for it.
“Newcastle will be dangerous if they can attract the likes of Mudryk, that’s for sure.”
Saint-Maximin has made just four Premier League starts this term due to a slew of muscle problems.
The Magpies sit third in the table heading into the mid-season World Cup break.
