Red raw: Iwobi has showed encouraging signs in his few senior starts

By Richard Parks

Arsenal fans took to Twitter to slaughter Alex Iwobi in the wake of their team’s 4-1 Premier League win against West Ham on Sunday.

The Gunners attacking midfielder made his 35th appearance of the season for Arsene Wenger’s side, including his 18th league start for the Emirates Stadium clash.

But Iwobi’s substitution after 70 minutes, in which he was replaced by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, was the catalyst for a late Arsenal revival in which Aaron Ramsey scored and Alexandre Lacazette netted twice.

It provided the Londoners with the three points in what was Arsene Wenger’s penultimate league home match in charge as they strengthened their grip on sixth place in the Premier League table.

A section of Arsenal supporters were highly critical of the performance of Iwobi as they claimed he slowed down the team’s passing game and lacks end product.

Can’t help but think that Iwobi & Bellerin won’t be around for long under a new manager. Both poor today. Not for the first time this season either #afc
