Olivier Giroud has returned to Arsenal’s Premier League squad to face Sunderland on Saturday afternoon but fans on Twitter wanted to see him start at the Stadium of Light.
Striker Giroud made a cameo appearance during the 2-0 win over Reading in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night, after injuring his ankle against PSG in the Champions League fixture in September.
He played 24 minutes for the north London club, and provided an assist as England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a brace.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Would have played Giroud upfront and Alexis wide if it were me, then could move Chamberlain alongside Coquelin in midfield.

Only Ramsey and Giroud (2 out of 7) would come off the bench and make a difference. Not as strong as we thought #Arsenal

The France international has been restricted to five appearances in all competitions this season, with injuries and a late start to the season playing its part.
But teammate Alexis Sanchez has been utilised in the forward role by manager Arsene Wenger, as last season’s first-choice striker now has stiff competition for a first-team place.
In other Arsenal team news, club legend Alan Smith highlights the one worrying problem for the Gunners this season in their title challenge.
