Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction that Laurent Koscielny reportedly broke down in tears during a dressing room inquest.

The Sun claim that the France international could not contain his emotions in front of teammates during crisis talks among the players in a meeting that did not include manager Arsene Wenger.

It is said that Koscielny, 32, opened his heart and bore all in front of the other players as he explained that his children had been asking him why Arsenal had become so wretched.

The Gunners’ horrible run of form has seen them slip out of the top-four Premier League reckoning and lose last weekend’s League Cup final to Manchester City during a run of six defeats in 12 matches.

Arsenal supporters offered little in the way of sympathy of stand-in skipper Koscielny, who is one of the club’s longest serving players and has been a mainstay of the team since joining from Lorient in 2010.

Fans insisted the Gunners need more fortitude from their players, with one calling for “men of steel”, another dubbing Koscielny “weird” and one saying haters “will question his manhood”.
