Arsenal fans react on Twitter as 28-year-old ruled out of Bayern clash

By Will Butcher

Arsenal fans have reacted in frustrated fashion on Twitter after Mesut Ozil was ruled out of the Gunners’ second-leg Champions League tie against Bayern Munich.

Ozil, 28, missed Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday, as he looks to recover from illness but has been ruled out after only taking part in one training session prior to the match.

Arsene Wenger revealed the blow to Arsenal’s official Twitter account, as he looks to field a team capable of doing the impossible and levelling Bayern’s 5-1 advantage from the Allianz Arena.

The Frenchman did reveal that former Real Madrid and Schalke playmaker Ozil should be back in action on the weekend, as the Gunners face Lincoln City in the FA Cup.

Arsenal fans took to Twitter to vent their exasperation as Ozil misses another game through illness, with some claiming that the Germany international suffers from the worst possible strain of man flu.

This season, Ozil has been in decent form after having a hand in 17 goals during his 29 league and cup outings for the north London giants.

Scoring nine times with strikes against the likes of Chelsea, West Ham and Ludogorets, Ozil has also provided eight assists and will prove a big loss in the final third for the Gunners.
